Detailed news

Taylor Swift, a pop icon, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency on Tuesday night, mere minutes after the Democratic nominee concluded a contentious debate with Donald Trump.

Swift stated in a statement posted on her Instagram account, which has over 280 million followers, that she is voting for @kamalaharris because she advocates for the rights and causes that she believes require a combatant to champion.

Under a photograph of her cradling a cat, Swift wrote, “I believe she is a gifted, steady-handed leader and I am confident that we can achieve so much more in this country if we are led by calm, rather than chaos.”

“I was deeply encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate, @timwalz, who has been advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” Harris stated, alluding to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Swift signed the post with her full name and the moniker “Childless Cat Lady,” which was a direct reference to Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, the Republican ticket’s running companion for Trump.

Since his nomination in July, Vance has attracted criticism for remarks he made in 2021, in which he referred to several prominent Democrats, including Harris, as “childless cat ladies” who wish to “make the rest of the country miserable,” as well as for his anti-family and anti-children attitudes.

Swift recently stated that she was “aware that an AI of’me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was posted to his website.”

She wrote, “It really evoked my apprehensions regarding AI and the hazards of disseminating misinformation.” “I have come to the realization that I must be extremely forthcoming about my actual intentions as a voter in this election.” The most straightforward method of combating misinformation is to present the truth.

The timing of Swift’s endorsement was a surprise to the Harris campaign, according to two officials who spoke with NBC News.

However, the performer had supported President Joe Biden and his then-running mate Harris in the 2020 election.

On Tuesday, when asked about Swift’s endorsement of Harris, Trump responded to reporters, “I have no idea.”

Swift communicated, “I have conducted my investigation and have determined my decision.”

“You are solely responsible for conducting your research, and the decision is entirely yours to make.” I would also like to emphasize that registration is a prerequisite for voting, particularly for first-time voters. Written by her.

“I also find that voting early is significantly more convenient.” I will include a link to the registration process and information regarding early voting dates and locations in my narrative.
