BEIJING— As indicated by Huawei’s website on Monday, the tri-fold smartphone has garnered over 2.7 million pre-orders.

The Mate XT was the subject of pre-orders from the Chinese company at midday on Saturday. Apple’s anticipated iPhone 16 launch on Tuesday morning, Beijing time, was more than two days in advance.

Initially, Huawei had declared that it would introduce its latest offering at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mate XT’s price has not yet been disclosed by the organization. Sales of the device are scheduled to commence on September 20.

According to Canalys, Apple was eliminated from the top five smartphone vendors in China during the second quarter. The corporation stated that this was the first occasion on which domestic competitors occupied all five positions.
