• Tesla issued a recall for 4,000 Cybertrucks in April 2023 due to potential accelerator pedal pad looseness.
• The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall for 11,688 Cybertruck electric pickup trucks due to potential windscreen wiper failure.
• Tesla is also recalling 11,383 pickup truck models due to an incorrectly installed trim in the trunk bed.
In April, the business issued a recall for around 4,000 Cybertrucks to replace an accelerator pedal pad that had the potential to come loose and become stuck in the inside trim.
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Tesla is recalling 11,688 Cybertruck electric pickup trucks due to a potential windscreen wiper failure that might impair visibility and increase the risk of an accident.
According to a second NHTSA notice, the EV manufacturer is also recalling 11,383 pickup truck models because a trim in the trunk bed may have been incorrectly installed, potentially breaking free and endangering oncoming traffic.
For the car, whose mass production is anticipated to begin next year, the recalls represent the most recent setback. In its quarterly deliveries and manufacturing report, Tesla has not yet revealed the number of trucks it has delivered to customers.
In November 2023, the truck inspired by Blade Runner was first delivered, following years of anticipation and a challenging production ramp-up that CEO Elon Musk referred to as Tesla “digging its own grave.”
“The front windscreen wiper motor controller may fail due to excessive electrical current,” the auto safety authority stated in a recall acknowledgement letter on Monday.
According to the letters, the company’s service staff will replace the wiper motor, add pressure-sensitive tape and an adhesion booster, or replace the missing trim for affected vehicles at no cost.
According to a research by recall management company BizzyCar, the EV manufacturer experienced three recalls in the first quarter of this year that involved over 2.4 million vehicles.
The number comprises 2.2 million automobiles that were recalled in the US because the warning lights’ text size was off.
The majority of problems pertaining to Tesla recalls are often rectified through over-the-air software updates, despite the fact that the most recent concerns cannot be remotely fixed.
